Course Description

Develop your sketchbooking skills in this continuing course. Use pencils, pen, and watercolour to consolidate a regular sketching practice which will enhance not only your artistic skills but also your general well-being. About the Tutor: Bee has been making art her whole life. She trained as a medical doctor, practiced as a GP and in 2000, obtained her Certificate in Western Art from Nanyang Academy of Fine art in Singapore. She is passionate about helping people discover their innate creativity in a positive and nurturing learning environment. She especially loves teaching people how to sketch in a sketchbook to document their day to day experiences. She strongly advocates making “sketchies instead of selfies”. Bee is a Tresillian Studio Artist About the Course: Learn to sketch in a sketchbook using pencils, pen and watercolour. Begin by sketching simple everyday objects. Progress to sketching more complex subjects like people and places. Acquire skills to sketch on the go, anytime, anywhere. Develop a regular sketching practice which will enhance not only your artistic skills but also your general well-being. The more you use your sketchbook, the better you’ll get! What to Bring: 8. A5 Sketchbook , preferably with watercolour paper (eg Milini, Strathmore or Moleskin) or paper thick enough to take watercolour without warping too much. 9. 2B pencil 10. Fineliner pen waterproof black (eg Sakura Micron Black 0.4) 11. Compact watercolour set* 12. Waterbrush (eg Pentel medium) or watercolour brush (eg Art spectrum travel brush round size 6) 13. Sponge or rag 14. Water container if using watercolour brush *Cotman travel set (comes with a small brush) can be purchased from the teacher if required.

Terms and Conditions

A 20% administration fee applies to cancellations made before the beginning of the term. No refund will be given once the term has started. Participants in the term courses must be 18+ unless attending the After School or School Holiday workshops. Classes are not held on public holidays. Course start and finishing dates may vary due to public holidays and the availability of the course tutor. A full refund will only be given if a course is cancelled by the Tresillian Arts Centre. A refund will only be given if you have a medical certificate for the dates you have missed. No pro-rata payments are available for term courses or if classes are unattended by the student.
