Course Description

Working with Acrylics, you will learn the keys to successful paintings. Your tutor will help you with composition colour, subject matter and more. Some painting experience recommended as you work in a small class focused on developing and resolving your paintings. Your Tutor: Fiona Buchanan I am a visual artist and teacher I work in a variety of media and teach in several different media as well. I trained as a large scale scenic artist in Perth and worked for many years here and in Melbourne as a mural and large scale painter. I love Western Australia and often travel in the Southwest of WA, a totally beautiful part of the world to gather reference material for my work. I am inspired to paint the ocean because of the sense of belonging to the Earth that it inspires. I love to paint portraits and to try to represent the emotion of the moment. I work in both pastel and paint. I work in three main areas: Still life, portraiture and seascapes. Each of these areas is a challenge and I love them all.
