Create functional hand built ceramic homewares using slab building with porcelain paper clay. Learn surface decoration techniques using mini silkscreens, underglaze slip and paper. Participants can follow the tutor’s projects or work independently with guidance as needed. Students will learn a mixture of slab building techniques for creating functional homewares and how to design and make paper transfers for decorating the clay surface. Students can purchase tutor's tissue transfers to decorate their clay works. The first few weeks will be spent learning how to make paper transfers especially for clay and some hand building techniques for functional works using paper clay.
