Course Description

We will explore the art of the Renaissance, the cultural phenomenon that began initially in Florence and evolved over two centuries, producing some of the most beautiful and important works in Western Art. We will then take a journey through the history of Venice, from its unpromising beginnings in a muddy lagoon to its emergence as a world power, all the while looking at how this incredible story is reflected in its art.
