Have fun experimenting with oils, acrylics, pastels or watercolour. Explore exciting techniques with an array of subject matter. Work with your medium of choice or expand your artistic toolbox. About the Tutor: Art has always been a part of my life, from drawing the things around me as a little girl through to a BA (Fine Arts) Honours Degree where I achieved firsts for painting and design. The vibrant West Australian art world has been an inspiration and I have taught all the different mediums since moving here over 20 years ago. I have won a number of prizes for my paintings and sold extensively many to people returning to a variety of countries. About the Course There will be a different subject matter each week to structure the course for the beginners. They will be guided through, to develop their skills in their chosen medium. The ongoing and established artists will have a chance to experiment, meet new challenges and realise your strengths and potential, beit in realistic or abstract genre or any other styles. What you need to bring Bring whatever materials you might have at home depending on what medium you use. Selection of bristle (hog hair) brushes including a large & medium square brush. For OILS or ACRYLICS (quality brand) Crimson; Ultramarine Blue; Lemon yellow; Raw Sienna; Burnt Sienna; Burnt Umber; Pthalo Blue; White and palatte. OILS: Odourless or Linseed oil Solvent. ACRYLICS: Additional mixing mediums like heavy gel are optional. Rags; jars; willow charcoal; notebook etc. Canvas in pads, on board or stretched PASTELS: A box of basic colours of reasonable quality or individual sticks: Rembrandt, Art Spectrum or Smincke. Red; blue; yellow; rust; brown; white; cream; turquoise; purple etc. plus any other colours that attract you. A thin stick of willow charcoal ;tissues; eraser; Pastel pencils can be purchased if prefer red. Colourfix paper; Mi teintes pastel paper( large): One sheet cream and one sheet blue grey and any other colour of your choice. Cartridge paper. A box of watercolour pans or separate tubes (good quality) Alizaren Crimson; Ultramarine blue; lemon yellow to start. Then Raw sienna; Burnt sienna; Burnt umber; Cerulean blue; Intense (Pthalo) blue; Cadmium red and Cadmium yellow are options. Soft brushes with a good point, small and larger. Rough or Not watercolour paper (Saunders 300gm) or pad. Palette or white plastic plate. Tissues.
Terms and Conditions
A 20% administration fee applies to cancellations made before the beginning of term. No refund will be given once the term has started. Classes are not held on public holidays. Course start and finishing dates may vary due to public holidays and availability of the course tutor. A full refund will only be given if a course is canceled by the Tresillian Arts Centre. A refund will only be given if you have a medical certificate for the dates you have missed. No pro-rata payments are available for term courses or if classes are unattended by the student.
