Course Description

Master the real skills of drawing. Easily see what you want to create with the artist’s eye. Unlock your brain from drawing stereotypes so you can draw with confidence and ease. About your Tutor: Naomi is a multi award winning Contemporary Indigenous Australian Artist, a descendant of the Wiradjuri people of Central New South Wales. She was born in Sydney but has made her home in Perth for the past 36 years. Naomi has won numerous awards, including t he $10,000 Hawkesbuy Art Award in 2 011. Her successful career as a practicing artist and designer, spans the past 30 years. She graduated from Curtin University of WA with a BA in Design. Her career ranges from being self employed as an artist, textile designer, senior designer, at Canning Vale Weaving Mills, teaching art in Bangkok and Promotional Manager of Kurongkurl Kititjin School of Indigenous Australian Studies, at Edith Cowan University Perth. About the Course Most people believe they can't draw, this course will prove to you that you can! In this 8 week course, you will master the real skills of drawing. Easily see with the artists' eye what you want to create. It will effectively unlock your brain from drawing stereotypes and have you drawing with confidence and ease. We will look at how we use the right side of the brain to effectively see and therefore draw with authenticity and confidence. We unlock why you are stuck in drawing stereotypes and how to move past it. The various elements of drawing will gel together like a jigsaw puzzle, as we focus on line, tone, perspective, negative space, emotions, and facial proportions. What you need to bring A4 writing exercise book and pen A3 drawing cartridge paper pad Selection of lead pencils H, B and 2B 4B 6B Compressed charcoal drawing sticks or charcoal pencils Rubber and kneadable rubber ruler

Terms and Conditions

A 20% administration fee applies to cancellations made before the beginning of term. No refund will be given once the term has started. Classes are not held on public holidays. Course start and finishing dates may vary due to public holidays and availability of the course tutor. A full refund will only be given if a course is canceled by the Tresillian Arts Centre. A refund will only be given if you have a medical certificate for the dates you have missed. No pro-rata payments are available for term courses or if classes are unattended by the student.
