Course Description

Please note $20, paid in cash to the tutor, and will include all materials needed to complete the workshop. Students will create mixed media drawings that reference the surrounding environment by using materials derived from nature such as wax, raw pigments and organic objects. The workshop caters for all skill levels in a fun and supportive environment. About your Tutor: Born in Belgium and based in Perth, Stephanie Reisch is an interdisciplinary artist, curator, researcher and arts educator. Her practice references prehistory and natural phenomena through drawing, painting, sound and digital media. She has exhibited at numerous venues including Free Range Gallery, Margaret River Gallery, Daine Singer (VIC), Linton & Kay, King St Studio, Gallerysmith Project Space (VIC), ArtGeo Complex, Heathcote Museum & Gallery and Perth Galleries. Solo exhibitions include Antelands (Linton & Kay), Water & Stone (Heathcote Gallery), Silent Synchronicity (Mundaring Arts Centre) as well as group show, Contour, at Juniper Galleries in the late Robert Juniper’s studio. Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) and Master of Fine Arts from the University of Western Australia and is represented by Linton & Kay Galleries (Perth) and Jahroc Galleries (South West). About the Course: This 4 hour kids workshop caters for all skill levels in a fun and supportive environment. Students will create mixed media drawings that reference the surrounding natural environment and the incredible creatures that inhabit it. Students will learn how to incorporate materials such as beeswax, raw pigments derived from semi-precious stones and natural objects into their compositions to reimagine the world above and beneath the surface. All materials provided. What to bring: Clothes suited to artwork Water bottle and lunch (limited range of brushes available in the class so best to bring your own if you some) Material fee: $20, paid in cash to the tutor, and will include Daniel Smith watercolour pigments, beeswax, paper and all drawing materials.

Terms and Conditions

A 20% administration fee applies to cancellations made before the beginning of term. No refund will be given once the term has started. Classes are not held on public holidays. Course start and finishing dates may vary due to public holidays and availability of the course tutor. A full refund will only be given if a course is canceled by the Tresillian Arts Centre. A refund will only be given if you have a medical certificate for the dates you have missed. No pro-rata payments are available for term courses or if classes are unattended by the student.
