Make beautiful ceramic pieces using the pottery wheel. Learn basic and advanced techniques to make functional ware (plates, cups and bowls) or more sculptural pieces. Decorating and glazing techniques are also covered. About your Tutor: Kim is a professionally trained potter, having completed the 3-year Diploma of Studio Ceramics at Central TAFE in the mid-1990s. She has also completed a Visual Arts degree, majoring in print-making, and is a fully qualified Visual Arts teacher. She teaches both adult and children’s courses and works with students on the wheel as well as more experimental ceramic forms. About the Course Learn how to make beautiful ceramic pieces using the pottery wheel. We will learn basic and advanced techniques in this friendly and fun class. You will have the opportunity to make functional ware (plates, cups and bowls) or more sculptural pieces. You will also be covering, decorating and glazing techniques. What you need to bring Please wear old clothes/apron Old towel Personal clay tools - optional Journal and pencil Ideas, creativity, positive attitude 𝙈𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙁𝙚𝙚 $30 Course Materials Stoneware clay purchased from the tutor at cost. (Approx $20 - $25 per 10kg/12kg bag) (Includes fair use of colourants and glazes) Tools and equipment are supplied. Terms and Conditions
A 20% administration fee applies to cancellations made before the beginning of term. No refund will be given once the term has started. Classes are not held on public holidays. Course start and finishing dates may vary due to public holidays and availability of the course tutor. A full refund will only be given if a course is canceled by the Tresillian Arts Centre. A refund will only be given if you have a medical certificate for the dates you have missed. No pro-rata payments are available for term courses or if classes are unattended by the student.
