For students who have learned the basic fundamentals of watercolour painting and are ready for the next step. You will work step by step through what’s required to produce successful watercolour paintings. About the tutor: I came to Australia from Africa in 1987 and have been painting in watercolours for about 28 years. I have exhibited in and around Perth for most of those years and have won numerous awards over the years. I belong to the Watercolour Society of WA and exhibit with them annually apart from being on the Committee for the Society. I have a passion for watercolour and feel very strongly that I would like to pass on my knowledge. About the Course: I will start this beginner's course by talking about materials and why these are essential to learning the techniques of watercolour. You will spend several weeks learning the different techniques and then I will teach you how to approach a drawing and how to capture the essence of a scene without going into too much unnecessary detail. We will tackle several different but fairly simple scenes and I will break down the process in a systematic way enabling you to understand the steps it takes to produce a good watercolour painting. You will learn how to apply the techniques you have learnt to a painting to maximum effect.
