Course Description
This term we will focus on simplifying our subject using big brushes, shadows, glazing and high contrasting light to express mood and different season effects. Subjects will include landscape, buildings and seascapes. Weeks 1-3 will be taught by Sue Hibbert. Weeks 4-8 will be taught by Jon Martin. What you need to bring - see below or bring what you have. PAINTS – Artist’s quality tubes BEGINNER’S TUBES 1. Ultramarine Blue (series 1) 2. Alizarin Crimson (series 1) 3. Lemon Yellow (series 1) 4. Yellow Ochre (series 1) 5. Burnt Sienna (series 1) 6. Cobalt Blue (series 4) ADDITIONAL TUBES 1. Cerulean Blue Chromium (series 2) 2. Pyrrole Red (series 4) 3. Quinacridone Gold (series 3) 4. Cobalt Turquoise (series 4) 5. Burnt Umber (series 1) 6. Indigo Blue (series 1) 7. Sepia (series 1) Designer Gouache Permanent White PAPER – 300gsm or 185gsm watercolour sheet (cut into quarters) Arches, Saunders, Bohong or Bockingford (med texture surface or rough) BRUSHES - Soft Watercolour Brushes 1 Fan Brush 1 Rigger size 2 or 4 Hake 1” Round No 8, 12 Old pastry brush PALETTE – With enough places for individual colours and mixing (lid preferred) PENCILS – 2B and a soft eraser OTHER – Water jar, tissues and an old towel to place on the art table.

Terms and Conditions
A 20% administration fee applies to cancellations made before the beginning of the term. No refund will be given once the term has started. Participants in the term courses must be 18+ unless attending the After School or School Holiday workshops. Classes are not held on public holidays. Course start and finishing dates may vary due to public holidays and the availability of the course tutor. A full refund will only be given if a course is cancelled by the Tresillian Arts Centre. A refund will only be given if you have a medical certificate for the dates you have missed. No pro-rata payments are available for term courses or if classes are unattended by the student.
