Bring drama and atmosphere to your watercolour paintings with this exciting short course. We will look at landscapes, building skills each week that you can apply to any watercolour painting. About the Tutor: Cass Gartner I came to Australia from Africa in 1987 and have been painting in watercolours for about 28 years. I have exhibited in and around Perth for most of those years and have won numerous awards over the years. I belong to the Watercolour Society of WA and exhibit with them annually apart from being on the Committee for the Society. I have a passion for watercolour and feel very strongly that I would like to pass on my knowledge. About the Course An important part of a successful watercolour is a sense of drama in the composition and execution of the painting. Learn how drama can create atmosphere in your painting process during this short course. We will look at landscapes and build skills each week that you can apply to any watercolour painting. This short 4-week course is a perfect introduction to Cass’s signature style of watercolour compositions. Some watercolour experience is necessary and we will build on your existing understanding of papers, brush techniques and applications suited to each painting. What to bring 2 sheets of watercolour paper 300gsm rough (Arches, Fabriano or Canson only) 1 2b pencil 1 eraser 1 sharpener 1 plastic water jar 1 thin mdf board to tape paper to (approx 50 cm x 40 cm) 1 roll of masking tape 1 watercolour palette or old plate 1 small hake 1 size 10 or 12 pointed brush 1 box tissues Art Spectrum Paints: 1 tube Cadmium Yellow 1 tube Cobalt Blue 1 tube Ultramarine Blue 1 tube Raw Sienna 1 tube Cadmium Red 1 tube Alizarin Crimson 1 tube Sepia 1 tube Titanium White Material Fee: If students would like to purchase paper from the tutor, they are welcome to. Terms and Conditions
A 20% administration fee applies to cancellations made before the beginning of term. No refund will be given once the term has started. Classes are not held on public holidays. Course start and finishing dates may vary due to public holidays and availability of the course tutor. A full refund will only be given if a course is canceled by the Tresillian Arts Centre. A refund will only be given if you have a medical certificate for the dates you have missed. No pro-rata payments are available for term courses or if classes are unattended by the student.
