Course Description

Batik is a significant heritage of the South East Asian culture. It is a traditional art form as well as a unique medium for contemporary art. This is a great opportunity for young artists to explore this colorful art form. Young artists are provided a safe and systematic introduction to the art of real batik painting, creating their own mini batik pieces. They will be provided with a pre-waxed design on cloth with paper stretcher and other painting materials. At the end of the workshop, they will have a basic understanding of the Batik artform and an experience of painting a batik piece which they can take home with them.
