Angela Davis

Angela is a contemporary realist artist. Her colourful landscapes in both oils and pastels create a sense of escape to beautiful places.

Angela Davis, is a contemporary realist artist with almost 20 years experience working with soft pastels, as well as watercolours and oils. Originally from a sheep property near Cooma in NSW, (and a vertebrate palaeontologist), she now lives in Perth. Each year she travels somewhere to get inspiration and new material to work with back in her studio, forming a theme for her exhibition. Recent destinations have included Broome and Cape Leveque. This year she went on a life-changing journey to New Guinea which resulted in a new body of work shown in her recent exhibition at Tresillian “Birds, Butterflies and Bombs” Her award-winning pastels capture the beautiful colours of WA including the vast landscapes of the Pilbara and east and west Kimberley regions. She also loves to paint birds found along the coastlines around Perth and in the waterlily filled waterways of the Top End. Pastels are her preferred medium as they are vibrant colours, quick to apply and malleable. Angela has a studio at Tresillian where you can visit and see her work.
