Course Description

Your tutor: "Born in London, UK, Liz Berry has expressed her creativity through art for as long as she can remember – whether through painting, drawing, or design. After studying art at Harrow, she pursued a career in graphic design before discovering her enduring passion for ceramics later in life. Under the guidance of renowned potters Greg Crowe, Bernard Kerr and Warrick Palmateer, Liz was drawn to the tactile and expressive nature of clay. Today, she works from her studio in the Perth Hills, creating wheel-thrown ceramic pieces that reflect her deep appreciation for ancient Indian, Greek, and Persian ceramic traditions. Her forms and glazes evoke a sense of timelessness, exploring surface, texture, and the quiet beauty of age and weathering. Liz regularly exhibits her work in galleries across Western Australia and currently serves as Vice President of the Ceramic Arts Association of WA (2022–present).
