Course Description
A supportive class where you will learn the skills to create beautiful artworks. Pastels are an expressive medium for drawing and painting at the same time. Suitable for a beginner or for those who are keen to learn new techniques. Your Tutor: Leanna Taylor: A passionate pastelist, I have been fortunate to win many awards. My creative side has taken me into photography, merchandising display work, small business ownership, and ceramics. I have been a tutor at Fremantle Arts Centre and in my home studio, conducted workshops locally and in the country and have a diploma in Fine Arts. My job is to teach what I have learnt about Pastels and see my students develop their skills. Charcoal, Pastels, and Oils are my go-to mediums. I am an active member of WA Soc of Arts and Perth Pastel Society. Art has always been food for my soul as I interpret Australia’s stunning landscapes full of grasses, glorious trees, endless skies, and coastal views… and then there is still life and portraits! About the Course As a beginner to intermediate course, we will learn about the variety of pastels, papers, explore design ideas, formatting, composition, underpainting and the many techniques of applying pastels. Demonstrations will be given, along with lots of encouragement. I am sure you will love this wonderful medium and create masterpieces!
