Course Description

This course will focus more on the use of tenses and general grammar to improve your ability to speak Italian. The emphasis is on the spoken language. Your Tutor: Margherita Cavani I’m an experienced native speaker French teacher I have 25 years of experience in teaching languages in a wide range of situations, for all type of students and for various objectives. After teaching for many years prescribed c I am a qualified and passionate teacher of Italian as a second language with nine years of experience teaching in Perth, working with adults and preschool children at all levels. Originally from Carpi (Modena), Italy, I spent 18 years as a lawyer in banking before immigrating to New Zealand in 2009 and settling in Perth in 2016. I have a strong love for culture, music, literature, and sports, and my academic background includes Latin, Greek, Italian, European Literature, and Arts. My teaching approach combines grammar with Italian culture, using authentic materials such as film clips and songs to create engaging lessons. I design varied exercises to ensure effective learning and enjoyable experiences for my students. Additionally, I specialize in Italian conversation classes, helping learners build confidence and fluency through guided discussions and cultural immersion. About the Course In this course you will reinforce, through our listening, speaking, reading and writing activities key Italian grammar structures. Use present, past, future and conditional tenses. At the end of the course you will be able to organize general conversation in different situations and improve your fluency and confidence in speaking Italian. Course conducted 80% in Italian. What you need to bring Notepad, a pen and a dictionary. Material Fee $10 Course Materials: Photocopies and notes.

Terms and Conditions

A 20% administration fee applies to cancellations made before the beginning of the term. No refund will be given once the term has started. Participants in the term courses must be 18+ unless attending the After School or School Holiday workshops. Classes are not held on public holidays. Course start and finishing dates may vary due to public holidays and the availability of the course tutor. A full refund will only be given if a course is cancelled by the Tresillian Arts Centre. A refund will only be given if you have a medical certificate for the dates you have missed. No pro-rata payments are available for term courses or if classes are unattended by the student.
