Course Description

Learn the foundations of colour mixing and gain the confidence to create the colours you need for your paintings. In this class, you’ll learn how to mix colours using a traditional limited palette, as well as working with the beautiful range of colours available from modern paint companies. Using both a traditional limited palette and contemporary acrylic colours. You’ll learn how to choose your colours by looking carefully at your reference photo, understanding the colours that create light and shadow, and learning how different colours work together to create the results you’re looking for. Each class includes creating colour swatches of the mixing recipes you learn, building a valuable reference library for your studio. You'll then apply your new skills by painting a small study using the colours you've mixed. About your Tutor: Bec Bartell is a WA-based acrylic painter inspired by the natural world.
