Course Description

Celebrate the beauty of Western Australia’s wild orchids in this creative stumpwork embroidery class. Using three-dimensional embroidery techniques, you will create a orchid mounted in a small decorative pot. Learn how to shape and develop your stump work skills in a supportive environment. About Tutor: About the course This course introduces students to colourful, creative embroidery through a wide range of techniques, including surface stitchery, 3D stitching, stumpwork, goldwork and basic beading. Students may begin with a simple introductory project or continue their own work, drawing on Barbara’s guidance and extensive resources. Skills covered include selecting suitable fabrics and threads, preparing and setting up projects, applying appropriate finishing techniques, and developing confidence in colour choices and design. Students should have traditional embroidery experience and be able to work independently. Terms and Conditions

A 20% administration fee applies to cancellations made before the beginning of the term. No refund will be given once the term has started. Participants in the term courses must be 18+ unless attending the After School or School Holiday workshops. Classes are not held on public holidays. Course start and finishing dates may vary due to public holidays and the availability of the course tutor. A full refund will only be given if a course is cancelled by the Tresillian Arts Centre. A refund will only be given if you have a medical certificate for the dates you have missed. No pro-rata payments are available for term courses or if classes are unattended by the student.
