T2 Extending Drawing to Painting

Course Description

Painting and drawing using watercolours, pastels and charcoal, this course focuses on building confidence and skill through practical exploration. Students will learn to understand the unique qualities of each medium while developing strong observational and creative thinking skills. Through guided exercises, demonstrations and individual feedback, participants will explore colour, tone, composition and expressive mark making. The aim is to encourage students to think more creatively, experiment with technique, and apply foundational principles to achieve successful artistic outcomes. Suitable for all levels. About your Tutor: 𝗜𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘇𝗮 is a full time practicing artist and educator with an exhibition history spanning over forty years, his most recent being in 2023 in Singapore. His approach to his practice is highly disciplined and includes weekly figure drawing sessions and teaching commitments.
