Alex Kyriakacis is an artist residing in Perth WA. Her paintings are reflective of her everyday life and her surroundings. She paints ‘alla prima’- from life and completes most of her paintings in one sitting so that she captures the colour and light in that moment. Her subject matter ranges from still life, landscapes and portraits. Alex paints regularly with the Perth Plein Air Painters - painting scenes all over Perth from life and in her studio.
Her professional journey in the visual arts began after high school where she studied Graphic Design at Curtin University. She then completed a Bachelor of Education in Secondary Art Education and worked as an art teacher in various schools all over the state for 10 years.
Alex has also worked as a specialist art teacher in Gifted and Talented programs and has run private art lessons for adults and children. Alex paints from her home studio in Perth
